James is an oil and gas attorney with decades of special focus on crude oil marketing, royalty pricing, revenue accounting, joint-interest accounting, severance taxation on production, ad valorem taxation of mineral values, enhanced oil recovery in mature fields, gas plant operations and accounting, and general marketing arrangements in upstream and midstream arenas. He began Robur LLC in late 2010 in order to use his oil and gas expertise, particularly in upstream and midstream marketing, in a business setting.
James is an active member of several professional associations. For the University of Texas System, he is member of the Chancellor’s Council, the 1881 Society, and the Ashbel Smith Circle. He serves on the Dallas Steering Committee for the University of Texas School of Law.
Tom has worked in the oil and gas industry since the mid 1970s, spending time with Placid Oil and, for the past 34 years, Browning Oil of Dallas. His broad experience includes assisting project planning for exploration and production, pipeline construction, revenue accounting, joint-interest accounting, severance taxation on production, marketing in upstream and midstream arenas, and personnel administration for oil and gas employees. While maintaining his role as Administrative Manager for Browning Oil, he began helping James with Robur LLC in 2011 and assumed greater responsibilities with Robur in 2014.
Robin has worked as a legal assistant in an oil and gas practice and as a landman for the past decade. Her experience includes royalty pricing, revenue accounting, severance tax reporting and accounting, division order analysis, gas plant accounting and product sales, and legal compliance for limited liability companies and limited partnerships. She began helping James as he formed Robur LLC and actively participates in the majority of Robur's monthly business activities.
